How the United Project Contributes to Our Shared Priorities
Our project contributes meaningfully to each of the four key priorities: inclusion & diversity, digital transformation, environment & climate change, and democratic life.
Inclusion & Diversity
We promote equal opportunities and encourage young people to participate actively. The United Project brings together partner organizations across 6 countries to promote sports, movement, and face-to-face connection — helping participants build cross-cultural friendships and a genuine sense of belonging.
Digital Transformation
We develop young people's digital skills and encourage the safe, creative, and responsible use of technology. The United Project tackles digital overload by focusing on movement, play, and face-to-face interaction, giving participants a healthier, more balanced relationship with technology.
Environment and Climate Change
We raise awareness about environmental issues and encourage participants to adopt sustainable and eco-friendly habits. The project helps teenagers build healthier relationships with nature by integrating outdoor sports with environmental action — such as local park clean-ups and tree planting.
Democratic Life
We encourage teenagers to become active, responsible citizens who respect European values, democracy, and cultural diversity. The United Project engages participants in democratic life by setting up open forums where young people vote and allocate project budgets democratically, and by running workshops where participants practice debate and critical thinking to resolve community issues collaboratively.
Together, these four pillars show how the United Project turns everyday activities — sport, play, and outdoor time — into real opportunities for inclusion, digital balance, environmental care, and democratic participation.

Building Inclusive, Digital, Sustainable, and Democratic Communities

1. Inclusion
We mixed people from different countries into teams, drawing on a range of social backgrounds, ages, genders, minorities, and disadvantaged groups. Through this experience, participants developed stronger teamwork, empathy, and intercultural communication skills, learning to collaborate effectively with people whose backgrounds differed from their own.
2. Digital Transformation
We used digital tools only when necessary to connect with the people around us, such as in our Erasmus+ project, where we crossed language barriers using apps like Google Translate. This gave participants practical experience in using technology purposefully and responsibly, rather than as a default, while also strengthening their digital literacy and problem-solving skills.
3. Climate Change
While attending the courses, we made a conscious effort to use natural light instead of lightbulbs that contribute to light pollution, and to minimize plastic use (bags, cups, etc.) in favor of reusable alternatives, with any waste sorted for recycling. Participants gained a hands-on understanding of sustainable practices and left with habits and awareness they can carry into everyday life.
4. Democratic Life
We learned the value of listening to other people's opinions within a democratic society. Members of the community built an empathetic mindset, allowing everyone to "feel for each other" and to place themselves in another's shoes. This experience helped participants develop active listening, critical thinking, and consensus-building skills essential for democratic participation.
Through this project, participants didn't just discuss these four priorities — they practiced and developed real, transferable skills in each one, leaving better equipped to act as inclusive, responsible, and engaged citizens.

Erasmus+: Building Bridges Across Europe

In these unprecedented times, Erasmus+ offers educational training in some of the most important pillars of our society. The unique experience we had gave us the opportunity to meet people from different countries and cultures, all while gaining new skills that will assist us in modern life as citizens of the European Union. Furthermore, during this program we got to connect with nature through numerous activities, such as yoga and walks through the park.
In a nutshell, Erasmus+ provides young people with valuable opportunities for personal growth and international cooperation. By promoting inclusion, diversity, environmental responsibility, and democracy, the program helps build a more connected, fair, and sustainable world for future generations.

How Erasmus+ Contributes to Our Shared Priorities

Our project contributes meaningfully to each of the four key priorities: inclusion, environment, diversity, and democracy.
Inclusion
Erasmus+ brings young people from different countries and backgrounds together, creating new experiences and opportunities for everyone to learn and grow.
Environment
The project fosters a friendly, inclusive, and comfortable environment, making it easier to break down barriers around social communication and to share our cultural differences openly with one another.
Diversity
Erasmus+ brings us closer together by allowing us to share the differences between our cultures and ideas. Despite these differences, we are able to relate to one another and build strong, lasting friendships.
Democracy
Within Erasmus+, we are able to freely share our opinions and consistently contribute to the themes discussed. We participate actively in decision-making and work together to reach general agreement.
Through these four pillars, the project demonstrates that inclusion, environmental awareness, diversity, and democratic participation are not separate goals, but interconnected values that reinforce one another — shaping us into more open, responsible, and engaged young citizens.
